Tribe's been very good to me.
So has the Bay Area.
(Ghetto Celebrity, my memoir from 2003, probably only really sold well in SF, Seattle and Boston. Maybe half of my used copy sales have gone to Tribe members.)
So, please be aware of my second book:

It's a fun, edgy book. I'll warn that you pretty much have to be interested in hardcore rap music to have much use for it. But I'm pretty proud of the thing. Anyway, it will help sell my third book, which is going out to publishers next month.
Thanks!

Re: In March please support my new book
Sun, May 4, 2008 - 6:27 PMThanks, my friend. It's an uphill struggle, pushing a book in this day and age.
The good news is that a lot of people really respond to the book —
www.sfbg.com/entry.php
Bad news? Some folks are the opposite of into the thing —
www.avclub.com/content/fe...ow_biz_book
And worse news is that people who are into the thing sometimes get nuts while celebrating it —
www.generation-hiphop.com/2008/...-dead/
I think this last thing matter could actually be that rare new thing in the world of literature.
My street cred is through the roof. But, tell me, who the hell needs street cred when they're trying to sell books!
(A running joke is that it ain't really gangsta rap until someone gets killed. My lawd.)
